Pre-release information: Using the Built-In OSCQuery Browser Window
Using the OSCQuery Browser Window
The OSCQuery protocol makes it possible for different software across a local network to easily share information needed to remotely control them from other systems using OSC messages. Within VDMX this protocol can be used in many places, including the OSCQuery Browser Window which can be accessed from the Window menu or by using the cmd+5 keyboard shortcut.
A video tutorial demonstrating using the OSCQuery Browser window to remotely browse and access the published parameters of another copy of VDMX can found here.
This window serves two purposes:
- Providing a quick interface for browsing and searching through the address space of a remote server, along with automatically generated controller elements that can be used to send off OSC messages without having to add any elements to your current VDMX workspace.
- Providing a quick interface for setting up OSC sending elements in VDMX, including:
- Drag elements from OSCQuery Browser onto UI elements to add an OSC sender.
- Drag elements from OSCQuery Browser into Cue List inspector to assign OSC senders, or to create automatically configured data-sources with senders.
